MEDIA RELEASE: NC Justice Center urges Gov. Cooper to veto budget

It is the role of our government to make sure we have healthy and safe communities, quality educational opportunities and skills training, thriving communities, the ability to rebuild after natural disasters, and broadly shared economic prosperity. North Carolina’s lawmakers have failed at their job with this budget. They have chosen to give even more benefits to the wealthy and profitable corporations instead of protecting and serving the needs all of North Carolinians. As state leaders continue to dig their heels in on their failed tax cut experiment, it is time for leaders across the state to stand against another harmful budget that is the wrong choice for North Carolina.

The NC Justice Center calls on Gov. Cooper to make the right choice for North Carolina and veto this budget.
